MEET DR. SOFFER

Dr. Soffer is well-known for her thorough and attentive evaluations and successful treatment of patients who have not improved from traditional care. Her patients frequently remark that her relaxed and approachable nature helps them feel comfortable to ask questions and receive treatment. Dr. Soffer teaches her patients about their medical conditions and involves them in every stage of medical decision-making. Dr. Soffer and her patients work together as partners to achieve their goals toward a healthy pain-free life.
After graduating from Albany Medical College in New York and completing residency training in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Soffer began private practice in Maryland with a focus on personalized, patient-driven care. She later joined a large multidisciplinary group caring for women throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, especially in the Washington, D.C. area. As the primary chronic pelvic pain specialist in the region, Dr. Soffer received referrals from her hundreds of general OB/GYN colleagues to evaluate and manage patients suffering from the most complex and difficult-to-treat pain syndromes. Dr. Soffer eventually moved her practice closer to home in Calvert and Anne Arundel counties, Maryland, where she continues to treat patients across the Mid-Atlantic region as well as Southern Maryland.
Among the conditions Dr. Soffer treats are pudendal neuralgia, surgical neuromas, myofascial pain syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, interstitial cystitis, pelvic congestion syndrome, painful intercourse, dysmenorrhea, and endometriosis. Throughout her career as a chronic pelvic pain specialist, she has coordinated patient care with urogynecologists, rheumatologists, dermatologists, neurologists, psychiatrists, gastroenterologists and physical therapists for patients with overlapping medical issues contributing to their pain. She has also medically and surgically treated complex and rare vulvar conditions such as lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, vulvar eczema, lichen simplex chronicus, as well as pre-cancerous vulvar and vaginal lesions. Dr. Soffer has also had great success helping patients who suffer from the unfortunate consequences of radiation therapy after treatment for vulvar, vaginal, cervical and uterine cancers.

Dr. Diana Soffer is a board-certified OB/GYN and Chronic Pelvic Pain Specialist with extensive experience caring for patients with a wide range of complex gynecologic issues, particularly women suffering with chronic abdominal, vaginal, and pelvic pain, as well as rare vulvar conditions.
